Rape: Five-year-old girl raped by two senior students of a private school | Patna News

Patna: A five-year-old girl, a student of a private school in Nawada, was allegedly raped by two senior students of the same school. The accused, aged 12 and 13, are students of Class 5 and 6 respectively. Both were taken into police custody on Thursday and sent to a juvenile home. According to police, the incident took place near the school toilet on June 30. Police said the girl had visited the school toilet between classes. There, the two accused approached her. They started misbehaving with the girl by touching her private parts. When the girl tried to escape, she was caught by the accused, who then assaulted her one by one. Nawada SDPO Anoj Kumar said the girl, a UKG student, informed her parents about the incident after reaching home. “The family filed a complaint with the police on July 2. Subsequently, the police immediately visited the school to investigate and inspected the areas indicated by the child and questioned the school staff and the principal,” the SDPO added. The SDPO said a case has been registered under the POCSO Act. “The accused have been sent to a juvenile detention centre after being produced before the juvenile court. The girl has been taken to Sadar Hospital for medical examination and the report is awaited,” he added. SHO Avinash Kumar said, “The forensic team visited the school and collected samples. The CCTV cameras installed in the school were thoroughly examined for evidence. Footage of the accused and the girl was recorded on the CCTV camera. Further investigation is being carried out based on the complaint.”
