PHILADELPHIA – Several people were arrested Thursday evening following a pro-Palestinian march and protest in Philadelphia.

NBC affiliate WCAU reported that the protest took place in front of City Hall.

The protest began peacefully and several people carried signs calling for a ceasefire.

At one point, it appeared as if some of the protesters threw smoke bombs, WCAU reported.

Many protesters were arrested and escorted to police cars.

It is unclear how many arrests were made. Philadelphia police had no comment Thursday evening.
