2 dead in car crash in north Austin, emergency services said

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two people were killed in a car crash in north Austin Thursday afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Austin Police and EMS responded to the crash on the southbound Research Boulevard interchange near Ohlen Road. It occurred just before 5:15 p.m.

ACTEMS informed X that paramedics were on scene to rescue two patients from the vehicle – both adults who were pronounced dead.

The Austin Transportation and Public Works Department said the accident blocked several lanes and drivers should consider alternative routes.
