Damonte Lewis, accused of shooting a couple in West Philadelphia, was arrested in Kansas City

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man accused of rape and a double shooting in West Philadelphia was arrested in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to the U.S. Marshals, 32-year-old Damonte Lewis was wanted by Philadelphia police for the rape of a 39-year-old woman on June 24.

According to the Marshals, Lewis is accused of shooting the woman and her boyfriend after the rape was reported.

Investigators believe the female victim was Lewis’ ex-girlfriend.

Investigators say Lewis fired into a second-floor bedroom from across the street.

Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.
