Arkansas police investigate fatal hit-and-run accident involving 19-year-old

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas – Arkansas State Police are currently investigating an incident in which a woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday evening.

Witnesses reportedly said a 19-year-old woman named Kalei Owen of Bentonville was struck by a vehicle after she ran out of the woods onto the roadway of Interstate 530 in Jefferson County.

Police are now asking the public for help in identifying the driver of the vehicle. They say it is believed to be a red Honda, but the exact model is unknown. The vehicle would most likely have damage to the front and passenger side and would be missing a fog light.

The vehicle was last seen around 10 p.m. traveling north on I-530 near Exit 27.

Owen’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
