Boy attacked by dogs in stable

Hyderabad: A 12-year-old boy who sustained injuries in an attack by a pack of stray dogs in Sangareddy is recovering and his condition is said to be stable.

The survivor, Harshvardhan, was playing outside his house in Srinagar Colony in 12th ward of Sangareddy town when a pack of stray dogs attacked him. The neighbours noticed the attack, chased away the dogs and rescued the boy. According to the authorities, the boy sustained injuries and was taken to the government hospital. He was later discharged.

Although the incident took place on June 28, video footage of the stray dogs attacking the boy went viral on social media sites on Wednesday.

An official said the Sangareddy municipality has started sterilizing stray dogs and special teams have been formed to catch the strays.
