Downtown Houston 4th of July Fireworks Start Time

End your Independence Day festivities with a spectacular, free fireworks display over downtown Houston on Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, 2024 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The grand finale of Houston’s official Fourth of July festival, Freedom Over Texas, held at Eleanor Tinsley Park in downtown Houston, is free for anyone to see for miles around.

The spectacular fireworks display takes place in the sky immediately west of downtown and over Bufffalo Bayou, Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive.

What time do the fireworks start in downtown Houston tonight?

The spectacular fireworks show begins around 9:30 p.m.

The best views will be those that offer a clear view of the sky above Eleanor Tinsely Park and Buffalo Bayou, immediately west of downtown.

  • Date: Independence Day, Thursday July 4, 2024
  • Time: The fireworks will start around 9:30 p.m.
  • Watch: The fireworks can be viewed for free from downtown. They are also part of the city’s Texas Freedom Celebration at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Tickets for the event are $10; children under 5 are free. Order tickets or learn more.
