According to police, 24-year-old Joel Sac Tambriz is known to have been driving a black 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback and struck 30-year-old Daniel Cruces on June 9.

In January, police stopped Tambriz while he was driving a black Honda Civic.

The hit-and-run accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at the intersection of W. Pioneer Parkway and Center Street. When police arrived, Cruces was lying unconscious on the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, Cruces was using the crosswalk at the intersection, attempting to cross from the northbound side of Pioneer Parkway to the southbound side, when he was struck by the Honda Civic, which was traveling eastbound on Pioneer Parkway. The Civic drove away from the scene of the accident.

The Civic was later found abandoned in the 700 block of E. Pioneer Parkway. Police say when they found the Civic, it had damage consistent with the crash and there were several containers of alcohol inside the car.

No arrests were made in connection with the accident.

Police ask that if you see Tambriz, please call 911 immediately. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Officer Trowbridge at (817)575-8602.
