Cyclist dies after accident on Bromont Mountain

A cyclist has died in a mountain accident in Bromont in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

The Bromont Resort confirmed the death in a social media post on Thursday, saying the incident occurred on July 1.

“Patrol officers were called to the mountain and immediately provided first aid,” the company wrote. “The victim was transported by ambulance and pronounced dead later that evening. This incident is extremely regrettable. The entire municipality of Bromont, montagne d’expériences, expresses its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.”

The mountain, about 80 kilometers east of Montreal, offers the longest mountain bike trails in Eastern Canada with 24 runs for all skill levels.
