Four people arrested in raid on hideout in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Four adults and one minor were arrested Tuesday for allegedly operating a drug stash house, Brownsville police announced.

On Tuesday, officers from the Brownsville Police Department executed a search warrant for the 1100 block of Calle Terrestre after receiving a tip that illegal drugs were being sold at the residence.

Cristo Rey Rodriguez, 25, Victor Saldaña, 18, Naomi Capuchino, 25, Santos Ruben Saldaña, 23, and a minor were arrested and taken into custody on the following charges:

  • Manufacture/delivery of controlled substances PG 1 >=4G<200G (11g cocaine): Serious crime of the 1st degree
  • Involvement in organized crime: first degree felony
  • Tampering with evidence: third degree felony
  • Possession of marijuana: Class B misdemeanor

All four adults were arraigned on Wednesday. Rodriguez and Victor Saldaña were each given bail of $227,500. Capuchino was given bail of $202,500 and Santos Saldaña was given bail of $2,500. The juvenile was taken to the Darell B. Hester Juvenile Detention Center.

The Brownsville Police Department’s anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline played a large role in these arrests. Brownsville Police urged citizens to report suspicious activity to Crime Stoppers at 546-TIPS.
