Man rapes cow in Chhattisgarh, arrested after surveillance video emerges

In a disturbing incident, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Dhongargarh district for allegedly abusing a cow.

The incident came to light after video footage of the crime surfaced online, prompting the leader of Hindutva group Bajrang Dal to lodge a complaint with the authorities.

According to the police report, the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday. The accused, identified as Tankeshwar Kanwar, entered a cowshed and committed the heinous act. The CCTV cameras installed in the area recorded the entire incident and provided important evidence for the investigation.

Soon after the video was shared online, Dharmendra Choubey, a leader of the Bajrang Dal, took swift action and filed a police complaint demanding immediate action against the accused.

Responding to the complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested Kanwar. He was charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
