🥵 It’s so hot in Houston that even the raccoons are having a pool party!

HOUSTON – There’s no point in procrastinating: it’s hot in Houston!

Temperatures flirt with triple digits daily while the feel-good temperature climbs to over 100 degrees. Just step outside and you’re almost hit in the face by a double blast of heat and humidity.

Fortunately, we can take refuge indoors, away from the air conditioning. Plus, when we are outside, we have access to places to cool off, like a swimming pool for example.

Wildlife only has access to one of them. And it’s not air conditioning.

Twice in the past week, Montrose resident Mark Dykes has caught a group of raccoons swimming in his backyard pool.

Yes, raccoons swimming in circles in his backyard pool like they were there to celebrate the 4th of July.

Both scenes were filmed and shared on the neighborhood website NextDoor. Each video garnered hundreds of likes and even more colorful comments.

“It’s so cute,” one resident said. “It looks like they’re having a blast.”

After much fanfare and fun, the raccoons appear to have dried off and headed to their next destination.
