Fire in Fruitland leads to investigation into cause of fire

A field near Fruitland City Hall caught fire and spread to a nearby tree nursery. The fire was contained, but the cause is still unknown.

FRUITLAND, Idaho – The Payette Fire Department says an investigation is underway into the cause of a large fire near Fruitland City Hall.

Around midnight on Thursday, a fire broke out in a field across from Fruitland City Hall and spread to a nearby nursery.

The fire department told KTVB that 16 fire engines were on the scene, including two from Nyssa, Oregon.

The fire was eventually contained, but the cause is still unknown. KTVB will provide updates as they become available.
