Two men have been sentenced to prison after raping a 16-year-old girl and forcing her into a car in central London.

Adilson Domingos, 42, from West Ham, east London, and Baxton Atenis, 29, from Tottenham, north London, were found guilty of raping the young girl as she was out with her friend.

The three-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court ended in February.

And on Monday, the two men were sentenced: Atenis was sentenced to 13 years in prison and Domingos to 12 years behind bars.

The victim, who was 16 at the time of the rape, was walking with her friend in central London in July 2021 when the two men approached her.

They forced her to get into a car with them and drove the girl to Atenis’ house, where they raped her.

The next day, in the early hours of the morning, the girl managed to leave the house and call the police.

The Metropolitan Police said the girl was able to provide details helpful to their investigation, including the address of the house the men drove her to, the car’s registration number and a telephone number Atenis had given her.

Police first arrested Atenis and after that arrest, investigators were able to identify and arrest Domingos after he was identified through a social media profile.

Detective Constable Daniella Biggins said Domingos and Atenis were “highly dangerous, predatory individuals who targeted a young girl and isolated her from her friends before raping her”.

DC Biggins continued: “With the support of her wonderful family and friends, the victim showed tremendous courage and bravery in assisting a police investigation. I would like to personally thank her for the strength she showed and also the witnesses who gave evidence.
