Dallas police shoot suspect during robbery investigation | News

DALLAS, Texas – According to Dallas police, a suspect was shot and killed by police during a robbery investigation early on the morning of July 4, 2024.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a robbery in progress in the 2900 block of South Lancaster Road. Secret Service officers arrived on the scene and caused three suspects to flee through the back door of an illegal gaming room and jump a fence. One suspect pointed a gun at an officer, resulting in a struggle during which the officer shot and struck the suspect.

Officers administered first aid and called the Dallas Fire Department. The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The other two suspects were arrested by officers after they fled the scene. None of the officers were injured in the incident.

The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of Community Police Oversight have been notified. The investigation is ongoing and is documented under case numbers 102381-2024, 102431-2024, and 102439-2024.
