Bank accounts of Keheliya and family members blocked

The Bribery and Corruption Investigation Commission has ordered the freezing of 16 bank accounts of former minister Keheliya Rambukwella and his family members containing Rs 93.1 million.

The blocking will last for one week. The matter will be reported to the Supreme Court and a decision will be taken to extend the blocking of the accounts, the Commission said.

In addition, three insurance bonds were also suspended.

The bank accounts belonged to the former minister, his wife, three daughters and one of the ex-minister’s sons-in-law.
