Early morning armed robbery under investigation

JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) – An armed robbery at a convenience store in Jackson, Missouri is under investigation.

It happened on Thursday, May 9, between approximately 2:30 and 2:45 a.m. at the Rhodes location on East Jackson Boulevard.

According to Jackson Police Chief James Humphreys, a white man with a black bandana over his face and carrying a backpack entered the store, pointed a gun in his waistband at the clerk and ordered him to sit on the floor.

Chief Humphreys said the suspect then walked out of the store with a small amount of cash.

Investigators believe the suspect left the scene and there is no evidence he came in a vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
