Film director Tursunbek Usenov dies in car accident

AKIPRESS.COM – Film director Tursunbek Usenov died on July 3 at the age of 73, Kyrgyzcinema reported.

Usenov was driving a Hyundai Grandeur car when it collided with a Volvo truck at kilometer 57 of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart bypass near Tokmok at around 14:20 on July 1. Three people were injured in the accident, including a director.

T. Usenov was on his way to the filming location with two colleagues. One of them is in critical condition, the second is in stable condition in hospital.

The Chui District General Medical Center confirmed that Usenov Tursunbek was taken to the medical facility from the scene of the accident at around 14:55 on July 1.
