Xavier Eugene Dorcely, 22, was arrested on Tuesday and is accused of conspiracy to commit fraud.

In a press release, police said that between October 2023 and June 2024, Dorcely allegedly approached several people on campus and pretended to be a football player. He told his victims he needed help paying rent and would pay them back the money the next day, but he never did.

Police said surveillance video and license plate readers helped investigators build a case that took several months of investigation. Dorcely reportedly used different cars and names on campus, so it took police some time to figure out who he was.

Dorcey was taken to the Seminole County Jail.
