Whitestown police investigate shooting on I-65; motorists asked to avoid area

WHITESTOWN – Motorists are asked to avoid I-65 near Whitestown as the highway is closed due to the investigation into a shooting.

Whitestown Police confirmed one person was shot and taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators and paramedics are on site and the department is searching for possible suspects.

Traffic congestion is occurring on both I-65 and I-865, and authorities are asking drivers to use alternate routes.
