Elkhart man arrested after allegedly fleeing traffic stop – 95.3 MNC

An Elkhart man was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop at the corner of Wilden Avenue and Kundred Road, according to Goshen police.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 2, at around 10:30 a.m.

Investigators say the driver, John Raymond Rosario-Melendez, 26, collided with two vehicles and ended up in the 800 block of River Avenue.

He then swam across the Elkhart River and was arrested by officers on Chicago Avenue.

After an evaluation at Goshen General Hospital, he was taken to the Elkhart County Jail. Preliminary charges against him included resisting police while fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, and hit and run after an accident involving property damage.
