Father killed, wife and 3 sons seriously injured in accident in Allegan County

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Michigan – A West Michigan family is heartbroken after a father of three was killed in a car crash in Allegan County over the weekend.

Tina Josten tells FOX 17 that her nephew, Danny Savage, was killed in the crash last Sunday. She adds that her nephew’s wife and all three sons were in the car with him and are currently in the hospital with serious injuries.

“I’m terribly worried about the children in Chelsea. How they’re going to manage it all…” said Josten.

She tells me that some of the children are currently fighting for their lives.

Josten says she and the rest of the family want to fight to ensure they receive support after they are released from the hospital.

“I’m doing everything I can to help your babies and your wife, and I love (Danny),” Josten said.

Danny’s aunt says Chelsea is heartbroken over losing her human.

“They were very much in love. They have been together for 15 years and still laugh a lot together,” she said.

The couple and their three sons, Mason, Parker and Levi, were all in the car when it was hit.

“We know that when Parker wakes up, he won’t be the same Parker he was. And we don’t know exactly what he’ll need,” Josten said.

Danny enjoyed spending time with his boys and making people smile.

“He was out in the front yard throwing the ball, whipping the ball, and they were good,” Josten said. “I tell you, as soon as he walked into a room, the room lit up; you knew the fun was about to begin.”

Josten explains that Danny was the sole breadwinner of the family. He was a driving instructor.

His aunt, who knows all about this, explains that she was confused when she heard the report from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office that Danny missed a stop sign, which led to the accident.

“No way. No. No way, no way,” said Josten.

FOX 17 asked for an update on the accident but did not receive a response.

She adds that the family was uninsured. They have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help.

“Thank you for opening your heart to her. This will be a great help to her,” said Josten.
