Police officer shot dead in Cleveland, Ohio

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Fox 8 I-TEAM has learned that a Cleveland police officer was shot and taken to the hospital.

It happened early Thursday morning in the 1500 block of East 80th Street.

Andy Gasiewski, president of the Cleveland police union, said he was told the officer was injured and on his way to the hospital.

He did not know what condition the officer was in.

The I-TEAM has also reached out to Cleveland Police for additional information.
