A man was shot and killed at a home in Houston County, the coroner said. Investigations are ongoing

A man has died after a shooting at a home in Houston County on Wednesday evening, according to Houston County Coroner James Williams.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Wimberly Road in Hayneville around 8:20 p.m., Williams said.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Houston Healthcare in Perry, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the coroner said.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shooting but did not immediately provide further details about the incident. No additional information was available prior to publication.
