Woman in Hyderabad sexually abused by real estate agent

A woman was allegedly sexually harassed by a real estate agent and his assistant in Hyderabad after they mixed her coffee powder into her cold drink, police said on Wednesday.

The accused Janardhan and Sanga Reddy were arrested and sent to jail.

The woman stated in her complaint that she had visited Miyapur on Sunday where the two men had picked her up for a site visit at Yadagirigutta. On their way back at night, they stopped at an under-construction building and claimed that the car had broken down.

The two men then offered her food, which she refused. Eventually, however, they persuaded her to drink a cold drink, which made her feel dizzy. It is suspected that the drink was laced with drugs. They also offered her sweets, but the dizziness persisted.

The men took advantage of the situation, undressed her in the car and abused her until the early hours of the morning, the woman said. She claimed she was also beaten, which caused severe pain in her body.

The men then left them in a hostel in Miyapur and fled, the indictment says.

Police have filed charges of rape and other charges.
