The man and woman, aged 89 and 85, were found shot to death in their home in the 600 block of Southwest 30th Terrace on March 22.

Her vehicle – a red 2014 Ford Fusion – was missing.

During the course of the investigation, the detectives finally found the vehicle at a tow yard.

Investigators later discovered that Newson had not only stolen the car but also sold it.

NBC6 has learned that Newson had a romantic relationship with the couple’s granddaughter.

Newson is accused of car theft and receiving stolen goods, but is not linked to the murders.
