Death of baby in Biddeford, Maine, under investigation – NECN

Maine State Police say they are investigating the death of a one-month-old baby in Biddeford, Maine.

Police said they were called to a home on Emery Street on June 15 because an unresponsive baby was found there. The boy was taken to South Maine Hospital and eventually transferred to Maine Medical Center. He died a few days later, on June 20.

The medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy, but investigators have not yet released any information about the manner or cause of death.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Biddeford Police Department continue to investigate the child’s death. It is standard procedure for the Maine State Police to investigate deaths of babies in their state.
