Gang rape: 16-year-old girl raped by three men, two arrested | Dehradun News

Pithoragarh: According to police, a 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by three men in Amori, Champawat district on Tuesday. Two men — aged 20 and 26 — were arrested after villagers chased them while the third accused fled. Pratap Singh Negi, SHO of Champawat police station, said one of the accused was a truck driver and had come to the district with two friends in the vehicle when they saw the girl and kidnapped her. The three men raped the girl in the truck and left her on the road after threatening her not to tell anyone about the incident, Negi added. Some villagers helped the girl after seeing her on the road. They chased the truck and handed over the two accused to the police, the SHO said. Based on a complaint by the girl’s brother, an FIR was filed on Wednesday and the three accused were booked under BNS Section 137 (abduction), 123 (causing hurt by poison), 142 (wrongful confinement), 70 (gang rape), 74 (assault or criminal force to woman outrage her modesty) and the Pocso Act. The two arrested were remanded in judicial custody by the court for 14 days.
