1 dead and 1 injured in Galveston County crash along W. FM 517, authorities say

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – According to authorities, one person was killed in a traffic accident in Galveston County on Wednesday afternoon that forced part of a road to be closed.

At around 4:30 p.m., the League City Police Department said its officers assisted the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office with a serious traffic accident in the 7000 block of W. FM 517.

“The entire road between Landing Boulevard and Algoa Friendswood will be closed.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that one person died of their injuries at the scene and one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash was not immediately disclosed.
