Shark Bite Treated in West Palm Beach – NBC 6 South Florida

A news conference is scheduled to take place Thursday morning in West Palm Beach regarding a recent shark bite.

The press conference will take place at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The reason and which shark bit case is being discussed has not yet been announced.

A new report from the Florida Museum of Natural History found that the Sunshine State had the most unprovoked shark bites in the country last year.

According to the report, there were 69 confirmed unprovoked bites worldwide in 2023. Of these, 16 came from Florida alone.

That number is below the five-year average, the report said.
