Clark man charged with attempted murder after barricading incident

A Clark Township man is in custody after shots were reported fired at a home in town.

At around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, police responded to a home on Stanton Street. Authorities said 79-year-old Kenneth Kutyla had barricaded himself inside the home with a gun and refused to come out.

Witnesses told News 12 that some neighbors were evacuated as a precaution.

The Union County SWAT team entered the home and took Kutyla into custody. He faces several charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.

No injuries were reported.
