6-year-old boy killed by family dog ​​in Lorain, Ohio

LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) — A 6-year-old boy is dead Wednesday afternoon after being attacked by a family dog, according to Lorain police.


According to a press release, officers arrived at a home in the 1700 block of East 31st Street shortly after 4 p.m. and began their investigation.

“Officers were advised that the man was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the attack. The Lorain Police Detective Bureau and Lorain County Coroner’s Office then arrived to continue the investigation,” the press release said.

The Friendship Animal Protective League in Elyria also responded and assisted in the investigation, the press release said.

The police did not provide any further details on Wednesday afternoon, citing ongoing investigations.
