Man arrested after surprise shooting that left one person injured

SURPRISE, Arizona – A man was arrested after a shooting that left an 18-year-old in critical condition, police said.

According to Surprise police, officers were called to a home in the area of ​​168th Avenue and Jenan Drive on Tuesday for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a large house party and an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound.

Officers and detectives interviewed dozens of witnesses who told police there was a fight between the man who was shot and 18-year-old Daniel Majok.

Witnesses told police that Majok pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times. He disappeared before officers arrived.

Investigators managed to find Majok at home. According to officials, he had a weapon with him at the time.

According to officials, Majok admitted his involvement in the incident.

Majok was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and other charges.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
