Motorcycle accident ends fatally

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – A high-speed motorcycle crash off the Old Nenana Highway tragically ended in death Tuesday evening.

According to Alaska State Troopers, who arrived shortly after 9:30 p.m., Fairbanks resident Blaine Hartman lost control of his motorcycle at a speed of almost 80 mph. He veered off the highway and crashed into a group of trees.

In 2018, we interviewed Hartman after another accident on the Parks Highway, where he stepped in as a Good Samaritan, making the rounds with his first aid kit.

Hartman told us at the time, “If it were up to me, I would want someone to do whatever they could to help me, and if it was my family… then you realize what’s important in life.”

Unfortunately, when emergency services arrived on Tuesday evening after Hartman’s accident, they were unable to resuscitate him. Fairbanks lost a hero. His wife “Alaska” Lizzie Hartman, known from cooking shows, said some of his fellow bikers were present and “did everything they could to help him and, above all, to be with him.”
