Salem: Perpetrator arrested after police find brass knuckles and pistols

PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) – A man accused of threatening another person at a Salem park was arrested Tuesday morning after authorities found firearms and suspected drugs in his truck, according to Salem police.

At around 7:30 a.m., a community member in Riverfront Park reported that a truck driver pointed a gun at him and gave a threatening message as he approached the truck.


An officer patrolling the area encountered the suspect – identified as 38-year-old Alex Thomas Morgan – at the scene and arrested him after finding two handguns, two brass knuckles, a substance believed to be fentanyl, and more than $500 in cash in his car.

Morgan was booked into the Marion County Jail on several charges, including menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and trafficking in controlled substances.

His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
