Body of missing Houston man found in Buffalo Bayou

Family members said they were informed that their missing loved one’s body had been removed from Buffalo Bayou earlier this week.

HOUSTON — The body of a missing man was found Monday in Buffalo Bayou. His family was notified Wednesday, a day after KHOU 11 reported him missing.

Kenneth Cutting’s parents had been worried since their 22-year-old son disappeared after a night out with his roommates last Friday. His father said he received a text message from his son’s roommates saying he had been drinking too much that night. They told him Kenneth Cutting jumped out of their car on I-10 East near Waco Street in the Fifth Ward.

The last known images of Cutting, according to his parents, were in a video he took with his roommates at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar downtown late Friday night into Saturday morning.

On Monday, Houston police said they recovered a body from Buffalo Bayou along Swiney Street, just north of the bayou and south of the intersection of U.S.-69 and I-10, about a mile and a half from where roommates said Cutting jumped from their car.

At least two members of Cutting’s family told KHOU 11 News that they were informed by the medical examiner’s office that it was Cutting’s body. Police also confirmed that it was indeed his body that was found.
