1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting on W. Evans Street in Florence, police say

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) — Florence police have arrested one person following a fatal shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Police said it happened in the 700 block of W. Evans St. The names of the suspect and victim have not been released.


“Upon arrival, we were informed that the individual involved in the shooting was still on site,” a police spokesperson said in an emailed news release. “The individual was taken into custody without further incident and we are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.”

The coroner’s office is assisting the police in their investigations. Further information was not immediately available.
