Houston traffic accident: Officer hospitalized after crash near IH-610 South Loop after Stella Link Road, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A police officer was injured after a crash on IH-610 South Loop Wednesday, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD told Eyewitness News that an officer was taken to the hospital after being involved in a crash.

The police department did not provide further details, but officials are urging drivers to take alternate routes while three lanes of eastbound traffic are closed on IH-610 South Loop past Stella Link Road.

The exit to Stella Link Road is also blocked as crews work to clear the wreckage.

According to Houston TranStar, the two-vehicle crash was verified at 2:15 p.m. near the South Loop.
