Neil Gaiman accused of sexual assault, author denies allegations

Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman is in charge several allegations of sexual assaultwhich made him the subject of a report to the police in New Zealand. Gaiman also gave an answerand denied the allegations.




According to Tortoise Media, two women have accused Gaiman of sexual harassment while in consensual relationships with the author. One of the two accusers, a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett, claims she was sexually assaulted in February 2022, just hours after she first met Gaiman. According to Scarlett, the assault occurred in a bathroom in Gaiman’s New Zealand home, where she was employed as a nanny for his child. Gaiman says the two were merely “cuddling” and “making out” that day, adding that a three-week sexual relationship followed, but it was entirely consensual. Scarlett insists Gaiman was “rough and degrading,” and messages, notes and accounts from friends reportedly support her allegations.

Another accuser, who identifies herself as K, says she was an 18-year-old fan when she met Gaiman at a book signing in Sarasota, Florida in 2003. K claims she began a romantic relationship with Gaiman after her 20th birthday, which led to rough sex that she “neither wanted nor enjoyed.” It is alleged that in one particular incident, Gaiman forcibly penetrated K despite her objections.

Gaiman has also denied this claim. Sandman The author claims that his relationship with K was never illegal and that he was “disturbed” to be accused of such behavior. According to Gaiman, K’s accusations were based on “regret” over the relationship she had when it ended. He also attributed Scarlett’s accusations to a medical condition that involves false memories, but the Tortoise Report noted that this is not supported by the accuser’s medical records.

New Zealand officials responded that they had “made several attempts to speak to key individuals as part of this investigation and those efforts are ongoing.” It added that “there are a number of factors to consider in this case, including the whereabouts of all parties.”
