Arrest in Robeson County murder investigation

ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WBTW) — A 24-year-old Robeson County man faces murder charges following his arrest Tuesday.

Shyheim Alford, 24, of Fairmont, is accused of shooting 23-year-old Terry Leach Jr. on Thursday night, authorities said. It happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Wiregrass Road near Lumberton.

Alford is charged with first-degree murder, discharging a firearm into an inhabited property and assault with a deadly weapon in the presence of a minor. He is being held without bail at the Robeson County Detention Center.
