Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old in Homestead during an online sales meeting, authorities said.

According to an arrest report released Thursday, 18-year-old Aureliano Gomez and two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, were arrested in the shooting.

According to the report, the 16-year-old victim had listed a minibike for sale on OfferUp and agreed to sell it to Gomez in exchange for another motorized bike and $200.

They arranged to meet Tuesday evening in the 900 block of Northwest 1st Avenue.

But as the victim and the people accompanying him met with Gomez, a sedan arrived and four men dressed all in black got out and began hitting the vehicle the victim was in, the report said.

A suspect smashed a window with his elbow and the victims tried to escape but backed into the suspects’ vehicle, the report said.

One of the suspects opened fire, hitting the victim in the leg and stomach, the report says.

The juvenile victim was flown to Jackson South in stable condition.

Police tracked down Gomez, who said his minibike was stolen and he found it on OfferUp, the report said.

Gomez said he contacted the victim and brought his friends along for “support,” the report said.

Gomez was taken to jail and faces charges including attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm. It is unknown what charges the younger teens will face.
