The Congress leader also reiterated his controversial remarks on Hinduism and said that the BJP people who are spreading violence do not understand the basic principles of religion.

“The cowardly and violent attack on the Gujarat Congress office reinforces my opinion about the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. The BJP people who are spreading violence and hatred do not understand the basic principles of Hinduism,” the Raebareli MP wrote on X.

“The people of Gujarat have clearly seen through their lies and will teach the BJP government a crucial lesson. I say it again – INDIA will win in Gujarat!” he added.

Following Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in Parliament, the Congress office in Ahmedabad was vandalised in protest. Party spokesperson Hemang Raval said a complaint had been lodged in this regard and alleged that the vandalism was carried out by Bajrang Dal and VHP.

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress also clashed in front of the party office on Tuesday evening, and the building was pelted with stones. BJP workers demanded that Gandhi apologize for his comments in the Lok Sabha.

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi addressed the Lok Sabha and accused the BJP and the RSS of spreading violence and hatred in the name of Hinduism. Addressing the government benches, he said, “Those who call themselves Hindus are involved in violence and hatred.”

When NDA MPs objected to the description of the entire Hindu society as violent, Rahul Gandhi clarified: “Narendra Modi is not the entire Hindu society. The BJP is not the entire Hindu society. The RSS is not the entire Hindu society… The BJP has not accepted any pact… Here, all are Hindus.”
