Wednesday will be warm with a risk of showers. Maximum temperatures will be around 32°C with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm.

High temperatures on Wednesday will be around 90 degrees. (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)
Will Beryl be able to make it to Texas?

The answer is yes. But we are watching one major element. The high pressure area in northern Florida will largely determine the trajectory in the Gulf of Mexico. With the strength of the high pressure current, Beryl should have no problem getting close to it and steering it north. If the high pressure weakens a bit, Beryl will miss its turn and head west. Regardless of the path Beryl takes, the risk of a rip current will be high starting Saturday!

Landing is significant for impacts on Houston:

We’ll have a better idea of Beryl’s extraction path Wednesday night. Right now, I’m betting on a direct hit over extreme southern Texas or northeastern Mexico. If that trajectory holds, the heaviest rain will fall west of Houston. It’s also possible that Beryl will regain hurricane strength as it approaches land.

Independence Day Forecast:

July 4th is a hot day! A heat warning is possible with temperatures around 90°F. Luckily, for the first time in two years, there are no fire bans in effect in Southeast Texas on July 4th! Be sure to check with your county before setting off fireworks.

10 day forecast:

The closer Beryl gets to southeast Texas, the more rain we’ll get. The further south Beryl moves, the lower our impacts will be. Right now, I’m betting on a 60% chance of tropical rain Sunday and Monday, with a chance of thunderstorms Saturday and Tuesday as well.
