Fayette County man arrested on drug charges after police found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his vehicle

VICTOR, WV (WVNS) – A Fayette County man is facing drug charges.

Rufus R. Keeney of Victor was stopped for a minor traffic violation in the area of ​​Chimney Corner shortly before noon on July 2, 2024.


During the stop, officers were given permission to search the vehicle. A drug-sniffing dog also gave positive results during the stop. During the search, officers found a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine, $1,245, and a ziplock bag containing marijuana.

Keeney is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic with the intent to traffick and possession of a Schedule 2 narcotic with the intent to traffick.

Keeney was arraigned before a Fayette County Justice of the Peace and held on $50,000 bail.
He is now waiting for further court proceedings.
