2-year-old boy dies after being found unconscious in Islandia pool

According to Suffolk County police, a 2-year-old boy died after being found unconscious while being pulled from a private pool in Islandia.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious child in a pool at 211 Sunflower Lane around 12:40 p.m.

Chosen Johnson-Pierre was pulled from the water by a family member. The family began CPR until emergency responders arrived on the scene.

Johnson-Pierre, a resident of the home, was taken to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
