One person injured in two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Braceville | Wcsjnews

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 11:45 a.m. this morning on Interstate 55 near Braceville.

According to the Braceville Fire Protection District, a semi-trailer truck struck a tractor-trailer from behind.

The driver of the car was injured and taken to Morris Hospital. The accident caused a significant fuel and oil leak, wwhich took several hours to clean up.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 55 were closed for two hours to allow for cleanup. The incident is still being investigated by the Illinois State Police. The Gardner Fire Department was also on the scene.
