Car accident in Granma leaves woman in critical condition

A woman is in critical condition after a serious accident with a Tourist car In grannyaccording to reports circulating on social media. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning along a section of the Jiguaní-Baire highwayas described in a post on the Facebook group “ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS, for more experience and fewer victims”.

The user explained that the tourist car tried to overtake a truck and collided with the bicycle of a woman, whose condition is now critical. The post reports that the driver of the vehicle swerved several times, hit a wall and eventually knocked down a power pole.

Online users expressed their outrage and criticised speeding, a behaviour that is particularly common among visitors who rent tourist cars on the island. “This was done out of reckless haste. If he had waited until the bike had passed before overtaking the truck, nothing would have happened. Now he has ruined the cyclist’s life,” commented one group member. “These rental cars drive at breakneck speeds… they are involved in many accidents… get well soon to the cyclist!!!” added another.
