Dee-1 refuses to make a clown out of Rick Ross after his attack in Canada

Dee-1 and Rick Ross are diametrically opposed. The former is a Christian rapper who preaches morality in his music. Ross does the opposite. He raps about cars, money, killing and dealing. This is what prompted Dee-1 to challenge MMG in 2023. He challenged the rapper to set a better example for his audience and Ross responded by mocking him. Dee-1 had a great chance to return the mockery when Rozay was mugged in Canada, but he kept the moral side.

The Christian rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation. He admitted that he and Rick Ross have had issues in the past. However, he didn’t engage in the taunting. “Rick Ross got punched in the face,” Dee-1 wrote. “Some people want me to rip him off about our past but no… I really wish him the best.” The Christian rapper then referred to the incident as something rap fans should avoid. “I know we can do better,” he added. “Hopefully this leads to growth across the board. The culture is being artificially kept alive.”

Dee-1 and Rick Ross will be back together in 2023

This isn’t the first time Dee-1 has spoken out on morality. When Rick Ross fought his initial criticism by making fun of Dee-1’s appearance, he refused to hit back. He even went so far as to say he and Ross should sit down and have a conversation. “I love you and hope you can choose the path that we all know is best,” Dee-1 added. “I’m definitely ready to talk more because the public needs to see two talented, successful, imperfect black men having difficult conversations.”

Rick Ross hasn’t exactly been on top of things lately. The rapper has had one argument after another in 2024, making fun of Drake, his baby mama Tia Kemp, and the two of them together. When Drake and Kemp flirted with each other via Instagram on July 1, Rozay responded by calling Drake a “pedo” and Kemp a “granny.” The only person Ross didn’t seem to have a falling out with was The Game. The Compton icon mocked Rozay on Instagram, releasing a diss track called “Freeway’s Revenge.” Nothing to do. Ross refused to take the bait, claiming The Game was “starved” for attention.
