FIRST WARNING: Extreme heat all week, hot days still on the way

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) – It’s another hot day and due to high ozone levels (smog) caused by the hot temperatures, an Air Quality Advisory is in effect until 8:00 PM TONIGHT.

A high pressure system will move into the desert southwest, bringing hotter and more intense heat throughout the week.

There is a risk of high to extreme heat, which, if we do not practice heat protection, can lead to heat-related illnesses.

A Excessive heat WARNING remains in force for parts of the desert southwest and has been extended until 8 p.m. TUESDAY.

Yuma County is also under a MONITOR excessive heat from Thursday.

Starting Friday and early next week, maximum temperatures will reach 120 degrees.

At the moment, the desert southwest is under a Weather agency FIRST WARNING to prepare for the great heat wave in the coming days, which will be First warning PROMOTION DAYS Thursday Tuesday.
