1 dead in car crash in Chesterfield County

CHERAW, SC (WBTV) – One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Chesterfield County Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 11:55 a.m. along Midway Road near South Carolina Highway 9.

According to police, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south on the road when it veered left off the road and struck a power pole and a tree.

The driver and only occupant of the car was pronounced dead.
